Hired A Window Cleaning Service? 2 Tips To Prepare For The Visit

It can be difficult to keep up with everything and cleaning windows is one thing that takes a large amount of time. Also, if you have more than one story this can be dangerous for you. If you have hired a window cleaning service to help with this, you need to prepare for their visit. Below are two tips to help you do this.

Clean Blinds

If the windows have blinds you need to remove them. Once removed inspect the blinds to see if they have any built-up dirt. If you have not cleaned the blinds lately, they are likely very dirty.

To clean faux wood blinds, you need a bucket of water and a microfiber cloth. Fill the bucket with warm or hot water. Add a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap. Use your hand to mix the soap with the water. Dip a microfiber cloth into the water and wipe every slat on the blind.

If you have vinyl blinds, you can place these in a bathtub filled with warm water. Add a few drops of liquid soap to the water. Leave the blinds in the water for about five minutes. Then, use a sponge to wipe the slats on each side. When finished, thoroughly rinse the blinds with clear water. Next throughout dry the blinds. You can use a dry cloth or if you have room simply hang the room on the shower rods.

Learn How the Cleaning Process Works

It can be very helpful to learn how the cleaning process works. This can help you know more about what things you need to do to prepare for the window cleaning service.

The window cleaning service can clean the interior windows as well as the exterior windows. Because of this, make sure there is nothing blocking the window, such as tables, chairs, etc. Remove these things before the window cleaning service arrives.

The cleaning process that many window cleaning service companies use is spraying the glass with water or another type of cleaning solution and then using a special type of squeegee to remove the water to dry the window. If the windows are very dirty the window cleaning service will scrub the glass. You may have things like sap from nearby trees, bird droppings, and stuck-on dirt. If the window cleaning service does have to do this extra cleaning, they may charge you more money for their services. This will depend on the window cleaning service that you hire, however.

The window cleaning service that you hire can give you information on how to prepare for their visit.
